If you won’t define us correctly, we’ll do it ourselves.

The Emotional Governance (EG) Theory was developed in response to the medical community’s ongoing refusal to acknowledge emotional dysregulation as a core feature of ADHD. This denial isn’t based on lack of evidence—it’s based on a system that only validates what fits its agenda.  Because emotional complexity doesn’t fit neatly into clinical checkboxes or pharmaceutical solutions, it gets sidelined, minimized, or dismissed entirely. EG Theory was created to expose that failure—and to redefine ADHD through the lens of lived emotional reality, not outdated diagnostic frameworks.

But what they hadn’t considered… was that people like me would get tired of waiting for them to do their job.

I’ve waited a lifetime for answers— Only to discover that adult ADHD wasn’t some groundbreaking new discovery. It was recognized in the 1980s. Which means for over 40 years, the medical community has knowingly used a watered-down, child-centered model, slightly tweaked to sound like it fits adults.

They didn’t rewrite the rules. They just stretched them. And in doing so, they erased the most important part of the adult ADHD experience: emotions.

They told us ADHD was about attention. About focus. About productivity. But they left out what really destroys lives:

  •  The emotional spiral

  •  The shame loops

  •  The rejection sensitivity

  •  The breakdowns behind closed doors

The Emotional Governance Theory wasn’t born out of research journals. It was born out of medical neglect. It’s what happens when the people who are suffering finally say:

If you won’t define us correctly, we’ll do it ourselves.
